A few months back, a domain which I was holding on GoDaddy, was due renewal. What surprised me, the domain renewal price was $33.23. 🤯
Do you know what is the idle .com domain renewal price should be: less than $9. 😧
That's a solid difference of $24.
With every .com domain renewal on GoDaddy, an innocent customer is losing about $24.
I realized how a popular domain company like GoDaddy is ripping off users like and me, and something needs to be done about it. Initially I made a video about the same, and shared cheaper alternatives.
A lot of bloggers, and digital marketers shared the same views, and outrightly called this as a scam. However, let's just accept GoDaddy is like any other business, whose interest is only to make money.
Nothing wrong here (it is business), but for you and me, this is a learning lesson, and we should find companies that works in our benefit.
Anyhoo, my research let me discover about Namesilo, which turned out to be one of the cheapest domain registrar.
